Experience in Leadership and Implementation

Stefan Römer’s professional experience spans technical product development, industrialization, management systems, regulatory affairs, digitalization, transactions, integration, and operational management.

Responsible for production and logistics, IT infrastructure and IT business processes, service operations, and strategic initiatives such as management cockpit, integrated management system compliant with ISO 9001 and ISO 27001, IT realignment, and IT-supported business processes.

Planning and managing strategic projects in M&A, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships; conducting due diligence with a focus on technical, regulatory, organizational, IT, and governance-related issues, as well as post-transaction integration.

Responsible for digital product and system architecture, development strategy, stakeholder and change management, interoperability of digital solutions, and regulatory aspects such as data protection, cybersecurity, and medical device software.

Led the Group Quality/Regulatory Affairs function; established and managed group-wide management systems; oversaw global product approvals and market access in over 80 countries; managed design control, risk management, and medical device software; and successfully passed four FDA inspections.

Technology strategy, operational management of R&D services and test engineering, development and engineering project portfolio, customer consulting, quality-, environmental- and safety-management, as well as the establishment of centers of excellence for MedTech development and test engineering.

Electronics development, ASIC/FPGA design, project management of complex product development projects, establishment of contract manufacturing and development operations, industrialization, restructuring support, and leadership in the engineering field.
